Wondering where to Propose in Edmonton? A Beautiful Evening Proposal At the Muttart Conservatory

Indoor Places to Propose in Edmonton

Looking for ideas for an epic proposal or where to propose in Edmonton, Alberta? Look no further than Shane and Kelli’s surprise proposal photo session at the Muttart Conservatory.

When Shane reached out about proposing to Kelli, he told me his original plan of heading to the Dominican Republic for the original proposal and doing a photo session there in which he would propose to Kelli. However, certain circumstances didn’t allow them to head out on their scheduled trip, and Shane didn’t want to wait. He said “When you know, you know.” To anyone thinking of proposing, listen to Shane. If you know you both want to spend your life together, just go for it!

After tossing around a couple of ideas, we settled on the Muttart Conservatory, as it was winter and Kelli doesn’t like the cold, and the Conservatory would emulate the feel of the Dominican Republic in the best way we could.

With it being winter, the night of the proposal, the warmth of the conservatory was highly welcomed, but with a sudden change of temperature comes lots of humidity in the tropical pyramid, and condensation! We were also surprised at how dimly lit the pyramids are at night inside, with only a couple lanterns lighting the path and a couple spotlights beaming from above.

We started the session like any couple’s session, checking out the pyramid and taking some cute photos. Shane and I had planned prior that I had the ring so it didn’t show in his pockets, and about halfway through the session, we pretended that he had a sheen on his forehead we had to deal with, and I asked Kelli to look for something I thought I had left elsewhere in the pyramid. Once we had given him back the ring, we did a simple prompt of leading Shane across the bridge. Then we stopped, asked her to spin around, and he proposed!

I couldn’t hear the speech that he had prepared for her over the nearby waterfall, but the smile on her face says it all. Of course, she said yes, and donned her beautiful custom ring.

We spent a little more time in that pyramid before heading to the feature pyramid, which was equally beautiful with the massive globe spinning above.

We all had a laugh at the fact that Kelli had dreamt the night before that Shane was proposing, but apparently it was in an awful location, and he had picked a horrid ring!
