Unique Adventure Elopement Ideas in the Canadian Rockies
Gone are the days of brides having to wear white, stand at an altar, or walk down the isle. There are so many great ways to get married, so many that the options are practically endless!
Kayla and Logan celebrated their time together with a beautiful, alternative elopement. In the beautiful fall, Kayla and Logan paddled out onto Abraham Lake before saying their vows privately and intimately to each other.
Abraham Lake used to be just a river, before the dam was built that flooded the valley, but now we are blessed with a vibrant blue mountain lake, with rising and falling levels. In the winter, find the amazing ice bubbles, in the summer, a serene place to camp away from it all, and in the fall, a beautiful flooded paradise, as the water levels rise, giving the appearance of sunken trees.
If you find the right places, you can paddle between the trees, taking in the vibrant blue mountain water, the falling leaves, and the stunning mountain range.
Kayla’s black wedding dress was the perfect contrast for fall, custom made by Enchanted Ever After, and Logan’s red suit was the perfect match. Paired with a beautiful bouquet and flower crown by Blooms by May based in Edmonton, these two could not have gotten more stunning!
Adventure elopements are a great way to customize your elopement experience to a day perfectly made for you and your partner, and Kayla and Logan’s could not have been any better.
The calm waters of the lake provided a perfect paddling environment, and the couple breaths of wind on an otherwise still night allowed these two to be warm and cozy in their wedding attire.
After paddling around on the beautiful lake, they docked and said their vows to each other in the serenity of the Canadian Rockies as the sun faded behind the clouds and the rock formations.
