Jasper Engagement Session at Maligne Lake: The Perfect Adventure Session

When Kylie and Matthew reached out about wanting a mountain engagement session, I was giddy to say the least! Jasper National Park is one of my favorite locations to shoot, and for this gorgeous couple and their two dogs, I knew it was going to be a great time.

After receiving back their questionnaire, I compiled a list of several locations that I knew would fit their vision for their session, keeping in mind of where was dog friendly to be sure that they could bring their boys along. Kylie and Matthew settled on a hike and picnic adventure at Maligne Lake for their engagement session, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

The day was gorgeous, barely a breath of wind, the sun was shining, and the temperature, even in the midst of the mountains, was warm enough for t-shirts and dresses. The fall colors were at the start of their peak, and while Jasper isn’t known for its fall colors like it’s counterpart Banff National Park, the little pops of color here and there make it even more special.

We hiked the Mary Schaeffer Loop, taking plenty of time to sightsee and enjoy the beautiful weather. The pups Oden and Watson were troopers, moving their tiny little legs as quickly as possible, keeping up with their humans all the way till the end of the hike, where we went back to the vehicles to grab the picnic basket and some blankets, and make our way back to the shore.

We couldn’t have had a nicer evening for a fall engagement session in Jasper. A touch of pink enveloped the clouds while Kylie and Matt enjoyed a glass of wine in the sunset on the shore of Maligne Lake.

Wondering what you can do for your adventure engagement session? The ideas are limitless! I would love to chat with you about your perfect adventure, and have your amazing mountain engagement session.
