A Beautiful Intimate Wedding at the Coutt’s Centre near Calgary, Alberta

When I heard that Alyssa and Graham’s intimate wedding was going to be located at the Coutt’s Centre, I knew I absolutely had to shoot there! There beautiful gardens, poppies, lane with trees, historical buildings… Oh, the scenery is to die for, especially in the summer when everything is in full bloom.

Alyssa started this rainy and stormy day by getting ready with her friends and loved one’s in the Chicken Coop, an old building that used to house chickens, and got modelled up into a cute little house. Everyone was worried that the rain wouldn’t leave, and they would be forced to take their ceremony indoors, but just as Alyssa was putting on her finishing touches and her dress, the rain stopped. In a mad dash, all the chairs were pulled back outside, and everyone gathered for their ceremony!

The rain and the storm held out, and their ceremony went by with the most beautiful weather of the day. Alyssa and Graham paid tribute to family and friends who were no longer with us by creating a bouquet of flowers with a flower representing each person. They also did a unity ceremony with sand, and finished off the ceremony with the two of them singing and playing their ukulele.

While family and friends played lawn games and snacked on appetizers, we took advantage of this beautiful venue near Calgary and set to work on bride and groom photos. There was so many amazing places to take photos at!

The evening ended with a vegan taco bar, speeches and dancing, and wouldn’t you know that the rain stayed away the rest of the day.

So if you are looking for a beautiful venue near Calgary with views of the Rocky Mountains in the distance, and your priorities are natural and historic, definitely check out the Coutt’s Centre! It will not disappoint your venue fantasies.
